What is the registration fee?
The registration fee is to provide your child with all the items needed to transition them successfully into the school year. This fee is due at the start of each school year for every student enrolled in the center. The money covers the cost of curriculum materials, classroom supplies and some field trips.
What are the teacher qualifications?
Our teachers have demonstrated prior experience working with young children. In addition, we will provide workshop training throughout the year. These training opportunities include First Aid/CPR and Health Screening classes. We believe our teachers are the best at what they do with Christian hearts and minds. Our teachers possess unique and genuine LOVE for children.
Do you accept Social Services Daycare assisted families?
Yes, we will accept Social Services Daycare assisted families. All paperwork must be completed and received prior to your child’s enrollment date.
Does the center encourage and offer opportunities for parental involvement?
Yes, Parent involvement is an important part of your child's success. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is one way to address parent concerns and ideas about your child's experience here at Destiny Child Development Center. We also encourage parents to visit their child's class and volunteer some of their time to reading stories, playing outside, etc.
Do you offer transportation?
We will transport our Afterschool Students from their Elementary school to the Center. We currently pick up from several schools in the area. (To get the complete list of those schools, please call the Center office (804) 643-6174). We do not offer any type of transportation to and from the child’s home.
Will the children go on field trips?
Yes, All children over the age of 2 participate in field trips. Parents will be notified at the beginning of each school year of all trips and their cost. Most trips will be covered with your child’s activity fee. We will also have on-site visits to provide the children with other fun learning experiences. Children under the age of two will participate in on-site visits.
What discounts are offered?
- Families with multiple children will receive a $10 discount off the oldest child enrolled.
- We are not currently offering Saint Paul’s Baptist Church members a discount. This is, however, a discount that we may provide in the future.
Do you provide food for ALL of the children?
We provide meals for children in the center above the age of one. Parents must provide food/formula (breast milk) for children ages 6 weeks-11 months.
If I pay the registration fee now, can I wait to enroll my child later?
You have two weeks to enroll your child from the time the registration fee is paid. In the event that no space is available and the registration fee is paid, you will be placed at the top of the waiting list. You will be notified by phone, and you have one week to enroll your child or the spot is forfeited. The registration fee will also be forfeited.
